“Blue Stone” – Modern Landscaping & Hardscape – Dallas, Texas
The importance of achieving harmony between architecture and landscape is exemplified in a in this landscaping project we recently completed in University Park. The home, Southern Living in style, was in need of a fresh landscape and hardscape redesign. While the homeowners loved the style of their home, they wanted to take their modern sensibilities and incorporate that style into new, functional outdoor spaces. Pennsylvania Blue Stone was selected for the patio and deck areas for its multifaceted color and smooth texture, both of which complimented the home’s classic red brick façade. By incorporating fresh landscaping with decorative cube seats and landscape edging made of Pennsylvania Blue Stone, the entire front of this home was completely transformed.
Having a landscape design that shows construction specifications for hardscape applications and a detailed planting plan is crucial when constructing new outdoor spaces, walkways, and landscape beds. 3D renderings help our clients visualize what their outdoor renovation will look like upon completion, including mockups of material selections and layout and spacing of structures. A 2D construction or planting plan assists the project manager and crew during the construction phase and enables them to accurately scale the construction of hardscapes and the placing of plant material. No matter the scale of a certain landscape or hardscape project, having an accredited landscape designer or architect come up with a custom design is essential for setting both the client’s and builder’s expectations for the project.
“Our experience with David and the folks from One Specialty was outstanding. We met with several contractors before deciding to work with David. From the moment we met with David it was clear to us that he was a man with integrity and committed to providing a superior level of customer service and a high quality product.
Our project was very extensive and involved a complete renovation of all the porches and patios (front porch, side entrance porch, pool cabana patio and the main rear patio) and all of the landscaping in the front yard. The design, demolition, and construction process went very smoothly. There were no surprises. The staff at One Specialty was hard working, demonstrated attention to detail very rare today and were a pleasure to work with. The final result far exceeded our expectations and completely transformed the exterior of our home. We highly recommend David and his staff at One Specialty.
